With the SD-SV-COM A suitable Bluetooth Low Energy adapter is now available for Dynon SV-COM radios are available to support you.

The adapter connects your Dynon SV-COM radio to navigation apps such as SkyDemon, Sky Map, VFRnav or easyVFRFrequencies can thus be transferred directly from the navigation app to the radio – conveniently, quickly and without manual input on the radio.

Practical test in flight: Frequency transmission to Dynon SV-COM

The following video shows the frequency transfer in flight: A frequency is selected in SkyDemon and then transferred to the Dynon SV-COM system. Another frequency change demonstrates the successful takeover.

Installation is carried out with the usual SD-Link plug-and-play quality: The adapter is simply plugged in between the existing cabling and the Dynon SV-COM system. No additional power supply is required.

The prerequisite is the use of a Dynon™ SV-COM-PANEL for operating the radio. The adapter is compatible with Dynon SV-COM systems such as... SV-COM-425, SV-COM-760, SV-COM-T83, SV-COM-T25, SV-COM-X25 and SV-COM-X83 Provided that they are controlled via an SV-COM-PANEL.

SD-ProPilot is the plug-and-play adapter for the Trio ProPilot Autopilot.

Yes, it is possible: By simply inserting this adapter, you can connect your Trio ProPilot autopilot to SkyDemon.

It is irrelevant whether your ProPilot is already connected to an EFIS or not. You simply select the navigation data source in SkyDemon.

SD-Link Trio ProPilot Adapter for SkyDemon

By activating the SD-ProPilot data source, ProPilot follows the planned SkyDemon route. You retain control directly on the SkyDemon screen.

Dynamic route changes are immediately reflected in the navigation data transmitted to the ProPilot autopilot. This allows course changes to be conveniently prepared on a tablet and transferred directly to the autopilot.

If the SD-ProPilot adapter is deactivated in SkyDemon, the existing EFIS navigation takes over again – or manual control.

Optionally, control via the panel using the Intelli-Switch is possible.

The Intelli-Switch allows for easy overview and control of the current navigation data source for the ProPilot autopilot. The control unit fits into the 57 mm instrument panel and has a shallow installation depth.

Note on practical testing

For further testing, we are looking for selected pilots with an installed Trio ProPilot autopilot.

Particularly helpful are interested parties who regularly use SkyDemon, can describe technical feedback in a comprehensible way, and are willing to document installation, configuration, and initial practical experiences.

The SD-ProPilot adapter can be tested either without the Intelli-Switch or together with the optional Intelli-Switch. The preferred option will be requested in the prepared application email.

The “GENERIC” adapter is now called “SD-Link Universal Bluetooth-to-RS232 Adapter for SkyDemon”

We are often asked what the current SkyDemon Bluetooth “GENERIC” adapter thought is.
After receiving a lot of feedback, we realized that the name “GENERIC” was not the best choice. Therefore, we decided to rename the adapter to SD-Link Universal Bluetooth-to-RS232 Adapter for SkyDemon to rename.

The new name better describes what the adapter can do: a universal solution for various applications – flexible, compact and reliable.

What is the SD-Link Universal Bluetooth-to-RS232 Adapter?

The Skydemon Universal Bluetooth to RS232 adapter is comparable to other SkyDemon Bluetooth adapters on the market, however not for a specific radio Instead, it offers a universal solution for a variety of radios and avionics systems.

Basic functions of the SD-Link Universal Bluetooth-to-RS232 adapter:

Bidirectional Bluetooth V4.0 BLE module
V24 level adjustment
Power Supply: 5-28V

What the adapter does not offer:

No specific adaptation to the radio connector layout
No forwarding of internal radio connections
No input or output of additional RS232 data

Comparison of the SD-Link Universal Bluetooth-to-RS232 Adapter

The SD-UNIVERSAL-E is comparable in functionality to the IRXON BT578 (or derivatives) – but with a more compact design and an extended operating voltage range.

You can use the adapter for all supported SkyDemon radios and autopilots – with manual wiring.

Attention: For the Becker AR620X is the adapter not suitable!

For this purpose we have developed the specially SD-AR620X-E.

The best for last:

The Pin assignment of the SD-UNIVERSAL-E corresponds to that Remote connector of the funke ATR833S, ATR833-II and ATR833A-II.

Even the old ATR833 with +12 V on the remote connector works.

This means: Plug-and-Play-Solution for these devices!

The remote connector is available in the following Funke wiring harnesses include:

And if you choose the version with Conec Snap-Lock, the module fits exactly into the prepared socket – without the use of screws.

Plug & Play – for those who don’t want to solder themselves…TQ KRT2 PnP BLE adapter for SkyDemon available!

SkyDemon Bluetooth Adapter for TQ KRT2 radios

Since version 4.0.0 (August 2024), SkyDemon (SD) offers the ability to set COM frequencies of selected radios (standby and active) directly from the app. The list of supported radios is continuously growing.
On the homepage of SkyDemon you can find an interesting VideoUntil now, this involved a bit of tinkering, as you had to power the BLE receiver and adjust the signals to the correct level. You also need a housing… so soldering, tinkering, and screwing.

Our TQ KRT2 PnP adapter is here to change that. Simply plug it in and you're done!

And if you still want to tinker, the adapter offers the possibility of supplying additional devices with V24 data.

SkyDemon Bluetooth Adapter for Becker AR620X

Like in Aviation Magazine 08/2024 reported, SkyDemon (SD) will support sending radio frequencies directly to radio devices. Since December 2024, the Becker protocol has also been supported, but so far only in the Android beta version of SD 4.0.2The iOS version with Becker AR620X support will be released in the next SD card release. We are taking advantage of this exciting development at SD Link and are pleased to present our new Becker AR620X Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) adapter – an experimental prototype that optimally supports this function!
