Description
Angled radio ATR833 Bluetooth adapter for SkyDemon, Sky-Map and other navigation apps — SD-ATR833-A (Angled).
The angled version of the SD-ATR833-E is designed for installations with limited space behind the transceiver. The adapter simply plugs in between the transceiver and the Sub-D connector—no additional wiring or mechanical modifications are required. You then set the standby and active frequencies directly from the app via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).
Additionally, the adapter offers a V24 data interface (multi-drop) at pin 9 of the outgoing connector for other devices — for example, an autopilot or AV-30 display can be integrated.
Key Features
- Compatibility: Designed for the Funke ATR833. Compatible with ATR833-S, ATR833-A, and ATR833-II-OLED, running on Android and iOS. Usable only with radios running software version SW 5.8 or higher—older versions (SW 5.7 and lower) are not supported. You can check if your device has SW 5.8 by looking at the serial number: the first supported unit has serial number 40131610 (production year 2010). Tip: The last two digits of the serial number indicate the production year—devices with lower numbers may require a software update from the manufacturer.
- Simple installation: The adapter is plugged in between the existing wiring and holds securely to the housing thanks to the Molex latch system.
- Space-saving design: Optionally angled upwards (UP) or downwards (DOWN) for optimal installation options.
- Power supply: No additional power supply required; processes on-board voltages up to 28 V. An integrated fuse protects in case of a fault — the radio remains operational.
- Requirements: Works on the 12V and 24V Avionics bus.
- Compact design: Dimensions 46 × 61 × 17 mm, Weight 60 gr.
Important note: This product is intended for experimental purposes only.

The adapter does exactly what I bought it for. Frequencies are sent from the iPad to the standby field of the radio. I had one question during setup and received a helpful reply the same day. One star deducted only because the space behind my panel made installation a bit awkward.

Installation was straightforward and worked perfectly right away. I did have to figure out that you connect the adapter directly to SkyDemon and not through the iPad's Bluetooth settings. Since then, it's been working flawlessly.

Install on an ATR833 with either side of the board. The price can be used in this case. You can use the frequency transfer from SkyDemon and the two functions. Small product, but you can also gain comfort.

I've been using the adapter with SkyDemon for a few weeks now. Tap the frequency, send it to the transceiver, and you're done. It's much more convenient, especially when I'm out and about, than having to adjust everything on the ATR833. The angled version was necessary for me because there's hardly any space behind the panel.

I was slightly worried that the adapter would stick out too far behind the radio, but the angled connector fits my installation very well. Setup took a few minutes and frequency transfer from SkyDemon has been reliable. Not cheap, but it solves the problem neatly.
